Noor Abu Dhabi is the world’s largest stand-alone operational solar plant in Abu Dhabi, Sweihan with a total capacity of 1.2 GW and more than 3.3 million of solar panels in one site. Owned and operated by Sweihan PV Power Company (SPPC), the plant started its commercial operations on April 30, 2019.
Masdar, as part of a consortium, developed the third phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum (MBR) Solar Park in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Phase 3 comprises 800 megawatts (MW), and is part of what will be the largest single-site solar park in the world, with a planned capacity of 5,000 MW by 2030.
The 2GW Al Dhafra Solar PV IPP is located around 30 km south of Abu Dhabi city, in the United Arab Emirates. On completion, the energy produced by Al Dhafra will power over 160,000 households in the UAE. This project represents a major milestone for the energy transition of the country.
